Dr. Mari Larrea is a sports and performance therapist and consultant dedicated to helping individuals and teams uncover purpose, maximize strengths, and reignite passion in their work and performance. She partners with individuals, families, teams, and organizations to develop strategies for optimizing performance, enhancing resilience, and managing stress.
Education
Dr. Larrea earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Albizu University and Florida Atlantic University, a master’s degree in Psychology, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) with a specialization in health psychology from Albizu University.
Training
She completed her predoctoral internship at Brigham Young University in 2023, where she trained extensively in individual, group, couples, and sex therapy, as well as biofeedback and performance enhancement. During her time at BYU, she was mentored by one of the field’s leading clinical sport psychologists and worked closely with Division I athletes across multiple teams. She also served as an adjunct professor in Performance Psychology during her internship. Dr. Larrea also brings broad clinical experience beyond performance settings. She has received extensive training in inpatient psychiatric care, community mental health, neuropsychology clinics, and the intersection of medical conditions with mental health. Her background includes working closely with athletic teams and multidisciplinary providers to deliver comprehensive care
Currently, Dr. Larrea also provides direct 1-1 therapy services at a private practice in Georgia under licensed supervision and serves clients nationwide. She is also the CEO and Founder of Elevate Global Ministry, Inc., an Atlanta-based nonprofit that integrates spiritual well-being with high-level performance for athletes, creatives, and leaders.
